Let me introduce myself…

Firstly, thank you for visiting my website. My name is Tabatha and I’m a certified Play Therapist.

I qualified at Edinburgh’s Queen Margaret University in MSc Play Therapy and I am now a registered Play Therapist with the British Association of Play Therapy (BAPT).

I live and work in my home city of Edinburgh, where I have gained over a decade of hands-on experience working closely with children and their families, providing nurturing care and support.

My ambition is to offer a safe and accepting space to children who are experiencing social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. Through the power of play and the therapeutic relationship, I can support children to make sense of their experiences and the world around them.

Work Background

My experience ranges from a childcare provider and Support Worker in home-life settings, to school settings as a Play Therapist and Pupil Support Assistant.

For ten years I worked as a Nanny in family homes across Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife. I also have multiple years working as a Support Worker. These experiences offered me an insight to the dynamics of family life. Following a person-centred approach, I have supported the development of genuine and trusting relationships, which allowed me to provide support and assistance to both children and their family.

While collaboratively working in Primary Schools, I have supported children with a variety of needs and experiences. Providing 1:1 support through therapeutic work and classroom support, along with group work for children experiencing social and emotional difficulties.

My knowledge and understanding in child development, allows me to recognise children’s differences and accept that everyone learns, grows and develops at different stages and in their own unique ways.
